About
As the days grow darker, take a winding path towards stillness.
Samhain marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. It’s a time for reflection and letting go, and walking the labyrinth creates space for both.
Taryn McHenry's three-circuit labyrinth offers a journey from the body through the heart toward inner wisdom. Found across cultures for thousands of years, a labyrinth has one continuous path to its centre and back out. The Labyrinth is a tool for mindfulness, meditation, and contemplation. There are no wrong turns or choices. As you walk inward, you’re invited to let go of distractions and notice what comes up. Pause at the centre, then follow the same path out, carrying any new thoughts or insights with you.
From 2-3 pm on Saturday, Ria and Claudia will offer a live drumming experience woven into the labyrinth walk, bringing together the grounding rhythms of shamanic drums and the shared energy of drumming in community. Joined by fellow drummers, they’ll create a space to connect with rhythm, the body and the present moment, allowing the drums to accompany and enrich the journey through the labyrinth.
From 11.30 am to 12.30 pm on Sunday, Ginny will join us for a sound bath, filling the space with the sustained tones and gentle vibrations of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls.
You’re welcome to drop into Yarn to explore the labyrinth, walk its winding path or have a chat with Taryn. Drop in any time during the opening hours below. There’s no need to book.
Saturday 14 November, 11 am–5 pm (closed for a break between 1–2 pm)
Sunday 15 November, 11 am–1 pm
The labyrinth is free to walk, with donations to support Solas in Ballycastle welcome throughout the day.
You can also join us for Help Build the Samhain Labyrinth on Friday evening or The Labyrinth: Closing Ceremony with Elder on Sunday afternoon.
