The Labyrinth: Closing Ceremony with Elder

About
Samhain marks the beginning of winter and, traditionally, the Celtic New Year. As the natural world grows quieter, it invites us to pause, look inward and consider what we’re ready to let go of.
In this workshop, Taryn McHenry brings together Elder, drumming and the labyrinth to guide this seasonal reflection. In folklore, Elder is known as the Elder Mother and is associated with thresholds and the passage into winter. The labyrinth offers a path for your own journey inward: one winding route to the centre and back out, with no choices or wrong turns. We encourage you to take time to walk the labyrinth during the weekend drop-in hours.
What to expect
Elderflower tea ritual: Begin with tea and time to connect with the themes of Elder and Samhain.
Guided drum meditation: Meet your “Inner Elder” and listen for what you may be ready to release.
Samhain fire: Write down what you wish to let go of and offer it to the fire. We’ll close with time to reflect, followed by tea and cake.
This workshop is for anyone seeking a pause from daily life, moving through a personal transition, or wanting to feel more connected to the changing seasons.
Please bring: A yoga mat, pillow, blanket, journal and pen, comfortable indoor footwear or thick socks for the labyrinth walk, and an item for the central altar.
