Yarn x Ursa Minor: Lúnasa Party

When & Where

Yarn Ballycastle, 24-26 Ann St, Ballycastle BT54 6AD, UK
About
Join Yarn and Ursa Minor for an evening celebrating Lúnasa, the old festival of first harvests and long summer evenings before the season begins to turn.
The night begins with a harvest-themed cocktail, followed by a three-course feast celebrating local growers and the abundance of late-summer produce. There will be whiskey around the fire and an ode to the harvests of the future by artist Kris Platt. Throughout the evening, food historian Mártín Mac Con Iomaire will share about Lúnasa and what it has meant on the island over the years.
Andy Baird provides the soundtrack for the evening, with a handpicked selection of records in the spirit of his Notes from a Record Collection sessions, setting the mood as the evening unfolds from supper into the small hours.
Come hungry, bring your dancing shoes and settle in for an evening of gorgeous food, great music, and a little celebration of all that summer has given us.
Bar available throughout the evening.
Lúnasa at Yarn
This event forms part of a weekend of Lúnasa celebrations presented by Yarn and Ursa Minor. Lúnasa is an ancient Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season: a time of feasting, music, storytelling and gathering with neighbours to celebrate the first fruits of the year. As the long days of summer begin to soften, this weekend offers a chance to come together around the table, raise a glass, share a bit of craic and enjoy the abundance of late summer before the season turns.
