About

“Obstacles do not block the path. They are the path.”

Water teaches us that strength is not always force. Sometimes it's the quiet willingness to keep flowing around whatever life places before us.

In this immersive workshop, we explore the wisdom of the water element through practices designed to slow the body, soften the breath, and quiet the mind. Together, we’ll discover that the moments we often resist can become our greatest teachers when we learn to meet them with presence rather than resistance.

Our journey will include:

  • Gentle pranayama (breathwork) to regulate the nervous system and create inner spaciousness.

  • A slow, somatic yoga practice that encourages fluid movement, deep listening, and embodied awareness.

  • Guided meditation for integration, allowing insights to settle.

  • Reflective journaling to deepen self-inquiry and carry your experience beyond the mat.

As movement slows, breath deepens, and thoughts begin to settle, clarity naturally emerges. Like water, we learn to adapt without losing ourselves, to soften without becoming weak, and to trust that every obstacle has the potential to shape us into something wiser, calmer, and more resilient.

Whether you’re navigating change, seeking stillness, or simply longing to reconnect with yourself, this workshop offers a gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and flow.

Come as you are. Bring your journal and a pen.

Leave feeling grounded, restored, and ready to move with life rather than against it.

About Elizabeth Welty

Elizabeth Welty has been teaching yoga in Belfast and beyond for over eighteen years, creating welcoming spaces where people can move, breathe, reconnect, and discover that yoga truly is for everyone.

She is a senior yoga and meditation teacher, co-founder of Ethos Yoga Studio in Holywood, County Down, and founder of Flow Studio, one of Belfast's first Vinyasa Flow yoga communities, which grew to three locations across the city. Elizabeth is also a co-creator of a 200-hour yoga teacher training programme and has mentored and trained more than eighty yoga teachers across Northern Ireland and beyond.

Alongside her studio work, Elizabeth has spent many years bringing yoga, mindfulness, and nervous system education into schools, universities, businesses, and community organisations. Her work spans everyone from primary school children to PhD researchers, always with the same intention: helping people cultivate greater resilience, focus, and wellbeing through simple, practical practices.

Most recently, she developed and delivered an advanced teacher training module, The Soul and Science of Calm, in Boulder, Colorado, exploring the meeting point of neuroscience, contemplative practice, and embodied movement. Elizabeth's teaching is warm, accessible, and encouraging. Whether you're stepping onto a yoga mat for the very first time or returning after many years, her invitation is always the same: Come exactly as you are. She believes yoga isn't about touching your toes. It's about coming home to yourself, one breath at a time.
