About

Join us for a day of traditional craft as we learn how to shape a small log of green wood into a spoon. Using the carving axe, carving knife and crook knife, you’ll explore simple techniques that transform raw wood into something useful, beautiful and entirely your own.

By the end of the workshop, most people leave with at least one finished spoon and the experience to continue carving at home. It’s a craft that needs very few tools and can be enjoyed anywhere: by the fire on a winter evening or out in the woods on a long summer’s day.

No experience necessary. All tools and materials supplied, with advice on wood selection, sourcing and where to find tools if you’d like to keep going.

  • Lunch provided
