About
Join us at Yarn for an evening with MÚLÚ (Miadhachlughain O’Donnell), a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Castlewellan, Co. Down.
A fluent Irish speaker with a strong interest in folk song, Múlú performs traditional repertoire in its original language, playing the shruti box (an Indian drone instrument similar to a harmonium) and the flute. Tommy Moynagh (Lonesome George) will be accompanying Múlú on the bodhrán.
Múlú comes from a family with a rich history in Irish traditional music, with connections to Tamalin, the internationally touring group formed by her relatives in the 1980s.
Since releasing her debut EP Sásta a bheith anseo in 2023, nominated for Best New Release at GRADAIM NÓS, she has toured widely, not only as a solo artist, but with ground-breaking tradtronica group HUARTAN, 11 piece female band BIIRD and also as a member of Afro Celt Sound System.
Doors at 7.30pm, show at 8 pm.
