We're delighted to welcome Joshua Burnside to Yarn for an intimate live show that blurs the lines between folk tradition and experimental soundscape.
A singular voice in modern Irish songwriting, Joshua’s music bends genre, blending found sounds, world music and unorthodox production methods. His sound carries the unease of post-conflict Northern Ireland, the depth of myth, and the pulse of the present moment.
His third album, Teeth Of Time, sits comfortably and confrontationally between the alt-folk realms of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens while retaining the indie singer-songwriter and traditional folk elements of Joshua’s signature songwriting.
With critically acclaimed albums including Ephrata, Into The Depths Of Hell, Burnside has earned praise from NPR, The Guardian, The Times and CLASH for his ability to hold both beauty and unease in the same breath.
