From Spark to Something Real - Creative Ashram: A Day Retreat

When & Where
27 Sept 2026, 10:00 – 17:00
Yarn Ballycastle, 24-26 Ann St, Ballycastle BT54 6AD, UK
About
That idea you've been carrying around:
The podcast you've been meaning to launch.
The business that's lived in the margins of your notebook.
The family stories waiting to be written down.
The creative project you've been returning to for months.
The book, screenplay, workshop, exhibition, proposal, plan or dream that keeps asking for your attention.
As summer begins to soften into autumn, this is an invitation to come back to it, to step away from the noise and to make space for deep thinking. And to give your ideas the time, care and attention they need to become something real.
Hosted at Yarn and facilitated by Elizabeth Welty, the founder of Creative Ashram, this one-day retreat is for anyone with something they want to make, shape or move forward. Whether you're writing, designing, building, planning or exploring a new idea, the day offers a thoughtful framework for turning intention into meaningful progress.
Together, we'll move through a simple but powerful creative process.
What You'll Experience:
Grounded in neuro-wellness and over twenty years of contemplative practice, you'll learn how to enter and sustain states of flow, where creativity, clarity, and productivity begin to align. You will be supported in clarifying and developing your ideas, building momentum in your work, and navigating distractions and overwhelm. You'll leave with meaningful progress and a practice you can return to.
Bring a project, a work-in-progress, or simply a willingness to begin. Lunch, snacks, teas & coffee provided.
The Itinerary:
Morning: Vision
We'll clarify your ideas, identify what matters most, and create a vision for where you want this work to go. Through reflection, practical exercises, and Creative Ashram methodology, you'll gain greater clarity on both your project and your next steps.
Lunch: Space
We'll share a beautiful meal from Ursa Minor and spend time outside, allowing our minds to settle, our attention to reset, and our ideas the space they need to breathe.
Afternoon: Creative Ashram
This is dedicated time for creation. A supported period of deep work where you can write, create, plan, sketch, design, develop, or build whatever you've brought with you. Here, intention becomes action and ideas begin to take form.
Closing: Momentum
We'll finish with reflection, integration, and a practical plan for carrying your work forward. You'll leave with meaningful progress, renewed focus, and a clear sense of what comes next.
About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Welty is the founder of Creative Ashram, a space where creativity, focus, and meaningful work are given room to flourish.
For over twenty-five years, Elizabeth has worked at the intersection of education, wellbeing, and human potential, helping people reconnect with their ideas, overcome self-doubt, and bring meaningful projects into form. She holds a PhD in Education from Queen's University Belfast and is a senior yoga teacher and meditation guide. Part teacher, part guide, and part enthusiastic champion of unfinished ideas, she blends neuroscience, mindfulness, movement, and practical creative tools to help people move from inspiration into action. Whether working with writers, entrepreneurs, artists, academics, or curious humans with a dream they've been carrying around for years, Elizabeth's approach is warm, practical, and deeply encouraging.
She believes that creativity is not reserved for a gifted few. It is a fundamentally human capacity that can be cultivated through attention, practice, and the courage to begin. When she's not facilitating retreats, you'll usually find her in the forest, on the dance floor, teaching yoga, scribbling ideas in notebooks, or helping someone take the next small step towards something that matters.
