About

Join us at Yarn for our Digital Arts Summer Camp with two hands-on, creative workshops for kids aged 8 to 11. Led by digital artist and music producer Graham Ginty, Digital Art Club offers two stand-alone workshops designed to get young minds making.

All equipment is provided.

Bring snacks on both days.

Tuesday 21st July, 10 am - 2 pm: Lego Animation & Music Production

Ever wanted to make your own animated film? You'll spend the morning building scenes and shooting your very own Lego stop-motion film, then in the afternoon you'll create an original soundtrack to go with it, using music production software right on your iPad. Sound effects, beats, and atmosphere will all be built by participants. By the end of the day, you'll have a finished film with your own music to take home and show off.

Wednesday 22nd July, 10 am - 2 pm: Hand-Drawn Animation & Movie VFX

Get creative with iPads and stylus pens as you learn to create your own digital artwork using Procreate. In the morning, you'll sketch, colour and build your own illustrations from scratch, then bring them to life by animating them on screen. In the afternoon, you'll use state-of-the-art iPad apps to film yourself and create your own Hollywood-style visual effects. Think explosions, portals, superpowers, all made by you.
