About

Hosted at Yarn, Ballycastle Film Club celebrates powerful filmmaking — from cult classics to contemporary gems, international cinema to homegrown favourites. Think iconic rebels, quiet heartbreakers and unexpected gems. Plus, our screenings are BYOB.

This month’s screening: Trainspotting

Set in Edinburgh in the 1990s, Mark Renton wants out. Out of heroin, out of trouble and out of the cycle that keeps pulling him back in. His friends, however, make escape difficult. Darkly funny and unforgettable, Trainspotting follows a group of young friends navigating addiction and the search for something more. Nearly thirty years on, it remains one of the defining films of modern British cinema.

Bring a drink and settle in. Whether you're revisiting a favourite or seeing it for the first time, all are welcome.

This screening is supported by Film Hub NI through the BFI Film Audience Network, using National Lottery funding.
