This month's screening: Trad
Winner of the Audience Award at the Galway Film Fleadh, Trad is a hugely entertaining celebration of Irish music from acclaimed writer-director Lance Daly (Black '47, Kisses). From their home in the Donegal Gaeltacht, gifted young fiddle player Shóna McAnally and her little brother Mickey set off with a troupe of travelling musicians on a cross-country journey filled with adventure, romance and musical discovery.
Bring a drink and settle in. Whether you're revisiting a favourite or seeing it for the first time, all are welcome.
This tour of Trad is brought to you by Collective, an initiative from Film Hub NI and Queen’s Film Theatre that brings the best of homegrown film directly to audiences. Theses screenings are presented as part of the Fleadh at Queen’s programme in July and August, the tour celebrates Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 coming to Belfast for the first time and the rich tradition of Irish music and heritage.
